Planning for the community: issues, opportunities and solutions

A community-run forum to explore the community’s role, interests and questions about strategic planning across Southeast Queensland

Time & location

15 Oct 2022, 9:00 am – 3:30 pm

Queensland College of Art, Griffith University, 226 Grey St, South Brisbane QLD 4101, Australia

About the event

This one day forum, hosted by the Southeast Queensland Community Alliance, will explore key planning issues affecting communities across SEQ – regional growth, climate change and community participation – now and into the future. How do SEQ's communities expect the issues of livability, resilience, growth and community involvement to be addressed now and in the future? How do planners, council and State officers go about securing the built environment we want for ourselves, our children and people moving into the region? And how can we ensure our public servants meet our expectations?

This forum will host a range of community-based and expert speakers who will share their insights and experiences of engaging with planners in SEQ. Most importantly of all, we want to hear from you – what are your thoughts and experiences with community planning in SEQ and how can those experiences and outcomes be improved?

This forum is for anyone with an interest in local or regional planning issues and the future of the cities, towns and open spaces of SEQ.
